Tribute paid to Highland senior transport officer

Bob Edwards passed away at his home in Burghead after a long illness. He is survived by his wife Laura and children Bronwyn and Owen. Before joining the Council in 2004 he had worked for Stagecoach as a depot manager in Aldershot, Perth and Elgin, and had also worked for another bus company in his native Yorkshire.

Sam MacNaughton, Head of Transport and Infrastructure with The Highland Council said:  “Bob was a keen enthusiastic member of the public transport team and was always willing to go the extra mile for the Council and the bus user community.  He was a bus man through and through but also had a deeply caring interest in people, and was highly regarded by many. He set an example to all around him and even while in hospital in Aberdeen for treatment he was still keeping up to date with his emails and contributing to the work of the team. He will be sadly missed by his many colleagues and our heartfelt sympathies are extended to his family and friends.”
