Rationalising Council Accommodation In Dingwall

Following a meeting of the Ross and Cromarty Area Meeting on Monday, Councillors have given the go-ahead for officers to continue with plans to look at the rationalisation of council office accommodation in Dingwall.

Members discussed a report prepared by the Director of Property and Architecture examining the issues surrounding accommodation in the town, officers have been instructed to prepare a design brief for the two options. Once Councillors approve the brief it will be taken to the market place so expressions of interest can be obtained.

Option one is for a new single office development to accommodate all council services in Dingwall with a separate Service Point located on the High Street. Option two is to retain the Council Offices and develop a new office in Dingwall for all remaining staff and a separate Service Point on the High Street.

Members will make the final decision once the private sector have submitted their proposals and Council officers have had the opportunity to evaluate the proposals in terms of Affordability and Value for Money.
