Outcome of Highland Licensing Committee hearing

After a hearing of the Highland Licensing Committee held today (Thursday 25 September) licensed taxi driver Raymond Paterson of Inverness has had his taxi driver’s licence suspended with immediate effect for its un-expired portion.

Councillor Maxine Smith, Chair of the Committee said: “The Highland Licensing Committee met today and after hearing from the Police, decided unanimously that Mr Paterson did pose a potential threat to the public if he continued to operate as a taxi driver. We therefore agreed to suspend his licence fully. I cannot discuss the details of the case as it has not yet been to Court, but the alleged offences were serious enough that the Committee needed to act immediately.”
