Temporary closure of Inverness Royal Academy

Following a routine inspection of the external flue chimney at Inverness Royal Academy structural concerns were raised and as a precaution the school has closed to ensure the safety of pupils and staff.

Further inspections and assessments are being carried out today and remedial works will take place during the October school holidays. The school will remain closed to pupils until after the October holidays.

Head teacher Alastair McKinlay said:  “We have informed parents and sent all pupils home this morning.  We expect that the work will be completed over the holidays. and will inform parents of progress by the normal channels.”
