Inverness school Christmas shopping day raises funds for Spring trip

Pupils at an Inverness primary school have organised a Christmas shopping day on Saturday 13 December with over 20 tables of festive wares for sale by businesses in and around Inverness, Nairn and further afield.

Everyone is welcome from 10am to 1pm at Raigmore Primary where there will be a raffle with some great prizes, and stalls including home baking, bric-a-brac and items that the children have been making, as well as face painting by Funny Faces Scotland.  Entry is £1 for adults & 50p for children.

Head Teacher Fiona Shearer commended the Primary 7 pupils who have been busy organising the Christmas shopping night, along with their class teacher Miss Shuttleworth.

Mrs Shearer said: “Our P7 pupils are raising funds to go towards the cost of a residential trip next spring. They have been busy organising the event, writing to local small businesses to ask if they would like to hire a stall from them and have also been working on items to sell at stalls of their own.

“Temple Spa, Wagging Tails Bakery, Asda, Phoenix Cards, Inverness Gift Box, Button Boutique, Inside Scoop, Martin’s Sweets and many more businesses are taking tables and we look forward to seeing lots of people on the day.  P7 are hoping that we get a large turnout and I am sure that it will be a great success for them.”
