Planning event in Brora re-arranged

The planning event to be held in Brora – which was postponed on 12 January due to the impact of poor weather conditions – has been re-arranged. It will now take place on Monday 26 January 2015 in the Community Centre, Johnstone Place, Brora.

A round table discussion workshop will run from 6.30 – 8.30pm.  Display boards will be available for viewing from 5.30pm with staff there to answer any questions. Anyone with an interest in the future of Brora, Golspie, Rogart or Helmsdale is welcome to attend.

The event is being held as part of the preparation of the Caithness and Sutherland Local Development Plan (CaSPlan). The workshop will provide an opportunity for the public to discuss the Main Issues Report and what it means for their communities.  The workshop will also explore priorities and potential projects for each settlement, which will then be used to help shape the priorities identified in the new Plan.

The consultation period on the CaSPlan Main Issues Report continues, however the deadline is fast approaching with all comments to be received by The Council no later than 12 noon on Thursday 29th January 2015.

The easiest way to read the Main Issues Report is on the CaSPlan webpage www.highland.gov.uk/casplan where comments can also be submitted.  Copies of the CaSPlan Main Issues Report are also available to view at each Council Service Point and Public Library in the area.
