Ness Islands closed for public safety until further notice.

Following the high winds and water levels experienced on Sunday 8 and into Monday 9 March - the Ness Islands public amenity area in Inverness is closed for public safety until further notice.

The Highland Council understands that damage to trees on the islands is considerable, however, until water levels have fallen and it is deemed safe to inspect and work in the area, the level of damage has yet to be fully assessed.

Pedestrians and cyclists are requested to heed closure signs for their own safety and are advised to use the nearest alternative route via the Infirmary Bridge until further notice.
