Have your say on Caol and Lochyside flood protection proposals

Caol and Lochyside
Some of the proposals for Caol and Lochyside flood protection.

The Highland Council has invited Caol and Lochyside locals and residents in Lochaber to attend to view proposals on a flood protection scheme for the area.

All are welcome to attend drop-in sessions on Monday 25 May in Kilmallie Free Church Glenpane Street, Caol at any time between 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm

The latest flood mapping of the area will be available as well as a preliminary design which illustrates the flood protection scheme for Caol and Lochyside. Maps, 3D visualisations and landscape architects impressions of how the flood protection proposals might look will be on display.

Representatives from The Highland Council and the Council’s Flooding Consultant will be available to discuss the plans and answer questions.

The Council has advertised the event in local newspapers and around 1,500 leaflets about the event have been posted through local doors in the Caol and Lochyside inviting people to attend. Posters are on display in local shops and the community centre.

Come along to the drop-in sessions and tell Highland Council what you want for your community.
