Renewables award for young Highland Council engineer

Inverness-based Highland Council Engineer, Jackie Sayer has won the Judges Award at the prestigious Scottish Renewables Young Professionals Award ceremony. The inaugural awards were recently held on Thursday 28 May in the Glasgow Science Centre.

Jackie was presented the Judges Award sponsored by EDF Energy Renewables for her keystone work in understanding the requirements of the Scottish Housing Quality Standards and developing a ‘road map’ to compliance.

Jackie has pioneered the use of home renewables to achieve low carbon affordable heating solutions and contributed to the new Scottish Government Housing Standards. Her work has led to the use of a Highland heat map to identify district heating opportunities.

Stuart Black, Highland Council’s Director of Development and Infrastructure said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Jackie in recognition of her hard work and achievement with our Energy and Sustainability Team. It is a very prestigious award and great achievement. Congratulations to Jackie on this excellent accolade.”
