Take a Walk on the Watery side with two family events at Nairn next week

The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are running two events next week that may involve dipping your toes in the water whether it’s by sea at Nairn Beach or on the banks of the River Nairn.

On Wednesday July 15 people are being invited to come along to an aqua-beast spotting session along the River Nairn. This is a great chance to see what watery wildlife you can catch in your net and find out more about the fascinating creatures that live in and around the river. The event takes place from 2pm to 3.30 pm and the meeting up point will be given out when places are booked by contacting the Rangers on 01463 255291.  The cost is £4 for adults/£3 concession or £11 for a family.

The second watery-themed event will take place on Friday 17 July when the popular Seashore Roadshow rolls into Nairn.  This annual event was a great hit with all ages last year, and this time around they’ll be plenty more free fun activites and displays connected to the stunning Scottish coastline for all ages to enjoy.

The action starts at Nairn Central links at 11am and events run throughout the day until 4 pm and all activities are free.

For further details contact the local Rangers on 01463 255291 or rangers.inverness@highland.gov.uk. For information about many other events being run by Highland Council Countryside Rangers in 2015, go to http://www.outdoorhighlands.co.uk/
