Safer routes to school for Wick High and Newton Park Primary.

Parents attended a meeting yesterday (1 October) in Wick to discuss Safer Routes to School proposals for the Wick High and Newton Park Primary campus.

Works are due to start later in the month to improve the main pupil routes to school.  Traffic Orders will be published by The Highland Council in relation to reducing the speed limit to 20mph around the school as well as restricting traffic flows on sections of Seaforth Avenue to one-way only.

Anyone who was unable to attend the meeting can view the proposals on the Council’s web site http://www.highland.gov.uk/ then type “Wick Campus” in the search and click on the ‘Safer Routes to School proposals’ link.

Further information can be obtained from Care & Learning Estates Section, Ness House, Drummond Road, Inverness, IV2 4NZ or e-mail: CLestates@highland.gov.uk.
