Food suppliers invited to tender for Highland Council contract
The Highland Council is inviting tenders for a new contract for food provisions covering the period from 23 May 2016 to 17 May 2019.
‘Food provisions’ are mainly used in school and nursery meals across the Highland area.
Requirements are divided into lots and suppliers can bid for one or more lots including: fresh meat – including poultry, game and meat products; fresh fruit and vegetables; fresh milk; fresh eggs; fresh bakery; and cooked meats.
The Highland area is divided into five geographical areas and suppliers can bid for one of more area covering the East, Lochaber, North, Skye – Lochalsh - Wester Ross; and South.
Suppliers can also elect to supply the premises in an area directly or choose to provide their products via suppliers who agree to act as wholesale distributors.
A supplier event has been organised by The Highland Council to which anyone interested in finding out more about this opportunity and how to tender can attend. The event is on Wednesday 6 January 2016, 2pm- 3:30pm at the Council Chamber, Headquarters, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness.
