Nurturing Nairnshire grant fund applications

Due to the interest in this exciting new approach to grant funding, groups now have until 19 February to apply for a grant to fund new projects in Nairnshire.

If you have an idea that will make Nairnshire a better place for everyone and need £200 to £2,500 to put your idea into action. Then ‘Nurturing Nairnshire’ is the opportunity for you to make your project happen. Groups in Nairnshire have been urged to come forwards with ideas and projects for a community fund. There has been keen interest to date.

In total £25,000 is available for grants up to £2,500. Any local community, voluntary or non-profit group can apply; projects can be large or small and the only criteria is that projects should aim to make Nairnshire a better place.

The extended deadline for applications is 6pm on Friday 19 February 2016.

Provost Laurie Fraser speaking on behalf of Nairn Ward Members said: “Whether you want to organise a community arts project, healthy living project, community sports event or activity day for young people; groups just need to complete a simple two-page application.

“Eligible groups will then be invited to present their idea at a community event on 12 March 10am – 1pm. Residents of the Nairn Ward are invited to come along to the event which will be held Nairn Community and Arts Centre to hear about the projects and vote for the projects they think should be funded.”

Application forms can be downloaded from The Highland Council Website at:
