Inverness Service Point moves to Town House

Inverness Service Point customers are being advised that the service is moving to the Town House. The entrance to the new Service Point at the Town House will be on Castle Street and will have a separate public entrance from the existing Town House reception area.

To allow the move to take place the Service Point on Church Street will close at 12noon on Friday 11 March and re-open at the Town House on Tuesday 15 March at 9am.

There will be no Inverness Service Point provision on Monday, 14 March 2016, customers can access Highland Council services via the council’s website at www.highland.gov.uk/online or phone the Service Centre for assistance on 01349 886606.

The move comes as a result of the current lease ending on the Church Street premises which provided an opportunity for Highland Council to deliver a more cost effective and sustainable service by co-locating at the Town House.

Members of the Council’s Resource Committee approved the decision in August last year to relocate and Council staff affected by the relocation and Trade Unions were consulted prior to work commencing on site in the Town House in October 2015.

Staff have been involved in the design and layout of the new Service Point to ensure that it meets both business needs and importantly, the needs of customers who make use of the Service Point.

The new premises will provide enhanced customer facilities with an improved queue system and self-service facilities to better meet customer needs.
