Gaelic Awareness Event

A Gaelic Awareness Event took place in the Strathnaver Museum, where parents received information and advice on the benefits of bilingualism from the Highland Council Gaelic Team Officials.

Strathnaver Museum hosted the event and organised fun activities for children in the area. The Museum Staff arranged a small exhibition displaying local photographs of cultural events which included Provincial and National Mod past and present participants from the North Coast Area.

Councillor Hamish Fraser, Chair of the Highland Council’s Gaelic Implementation Group said, “It was a successful event as parents had the opportunity to discuss the benefits of bilingualism with Council Officials, and had the opportunity to see previous winners and participants of local cultural events such as the Provincial Mòd”.
