Finding the Findhorn guided walk

The world famous river Findhorn has attracted people and wildlife for thousands of years and on Sunday 24 April Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger John Orr will be  leading a guided walk along the middle reaches of the river.

John said: “This walk takes us up above the river with spectacular views upstream towards The Findhorn Terraces then we descend to the deserted farm at Ballaggan at the river’s edge. Expect glorious views, fascinating history and a wealth of wildlife all connected with this part of the Findhorn. The walk is 5km or 3 miles and is a little steep in places.”

The walk, which takes place from 2pm to 5pm costs £9 for adults and £5children and concessions. Please bring walking boots, waterproofs and a snack/hot drink. All children must be accompanied by an adult.  The meeting up point will be given out when you book.

For more information and to book a place please phone the rangers on 01463 255291or e-mail john.orr@highland.gov.uk

The Countryside Rangers run many events and guided walks which aim to help raise awareness and encourage appreciation of the scenery, wildlife and heritage of the Highlands. A programme of Ranger Guided Walks and Events is on the council’s website at: www.highland.gov.uk/countrysiderangerevents
