Motorists advised of traffic restrictions for Etape Loch Ness

The Highland Council and partners are advising motorists of temporary road closures and speed restrictions which will be in place this weekend 23rd – 24th April during the Etape Loch Ness cycling event.

The restrictions and prohibitions which are being put in place are for participants safety and to allow the Etape to take place on public roads. Permission for the traffic order has been authorised by Scottish Ministers (trunk roads) and The Highland Council (local authority roads).

Access for emergency services vehicles will be maintained at all times and for vehicles employed to ensure the safety of the Event participants.

The following roads will be closed to all other vehicles on the dates and the times stated:

(a) Travelling in any direction on the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road between its junction with Bught Drive, Inverness, and its junction with the C1118 General Booth Road, from 06:00hrs to 07:15hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(b) Travelling in any direction on the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road between its junction with the C1118 General Booth Road, Inverness, and its junction with the A831 Drumnadrochit – Cannich – Beauly Toll Road, from 05:35hrs to 08:05hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(c) Travelling in any direction on the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road between its junction with the A831 Drumnadrochit – Cannich – Beauly Toll Road and its junction with the private road leading to Urquhart Castle, from 06:35hrs to 08:15hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(d) Travelling in any direction on the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road between its junction with the private road leading to Urquhart Castle and its junction with the U1766 Dalcataig Road, Invermoriston, from 06:20hrs to 09:05hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(e) Travelling in any direction on the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road between its junction with the U1766 Dalcataig Road, Invermoriston, and its junction with the B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road, from 07:00hrs to 09:35hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(f) Travelling in any direction on the B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores Inverness Road between its junction with the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road and its junction with the B852 Dalcrag Bridge – Foyers – Inverfarigaig – Dores Road, from 07:10hrs to 10:55hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(g) Travelling in any direction on the B852 Dalcrag Bridge – Foyers – Inverfarigaig – Dores Road between its junction with the B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road and its junction with the U1177 Foyers Road, from 07:45hrs to 11:05hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(h) Travelling in any direction on the B852 Dalcrag Bridge – Foyers – Inverfarigaig – Dores Road between its junction with the U1177 Foyers Road and its junction with the B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road, from 07:45hrs to 11:55hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(i) Travelling in any direction on the B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road between its junction with the B852 Dalcrag Bridge – Foyers – Inverfarigaig – Dores Road and Holm Roundabout, from 08:15hrs to 12:25hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(j) Travelling in a northbound direction on the B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road between Holm Roundabout and its junction with the B861 Inverness – Leys – Inverarnie Road (Ness Bridge Junction), from 08:35hrs to 12:40hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(k) Travelling in any direction on Ness Walk, Inverness, between its junction with Young Street and its junction with Ardross Terrace, from 08:45hrs to 12:40hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(l) Travelling in any direction on Ardross Terrace, Inverness, between its junction with Ness Walk and its junction with Bishops Road, from 08:45hrs to 12:40hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(m) Travelling in any direction on Bishops Road, Inverness, between its junction with Ness Walk and its junction with Ardross Terrace, from 18:00hrs on Saturday 23rd April to 15:00hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(n) Travelling in any direction on Ness Walk Upper, Inverness, between its junction with Bishops Road and its junction with Ballifeary Lane, from 05:30hrs to 08:00hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(o) Travelling in any direction on Ness Walk Upper, Inverness, between its junction with Ballifeary Lane and its junction with Bught Road, from 18:00hrs on Saturday 23rd April to 08:00hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(p) Travelling in any direction on Bught Road, Inverness, between its junction with Ness Walk Upper and its junction with Bught Avenue, from 18:00hrs on Saturday 23rd April to 08:00hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(q) Travelling in any direction on Bught Avenue, Inverness, between its junction with Bught Road and its junction with Bught Drive, from 06:00hrs to 07:10hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016;

(r) Travelling in any direction on Bught Drive, Inverness, between its junction with Bught Avenue and its junction with the A82 Dalnottar – Inverness Trunk Road, from 06:00hrs to 07:10hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016.

There will also be a temporary speed limit of 20mph in place on the  B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road between Holm Roundabout and its junction with the B861 Inverness – Leys – Inverarnie Road (Ness Bridge Junction), from 08:35hrs to 12:40hrs on Sunday 24th April 2016.
