Proposed relocation of Dunvegan Primary School

Highland Council is to seek the views of local communities on a proposal to relocate Dunvegan Primary School to Lonmore, on the outskirts of the village of Dunvegan.

Members of the Council’s Education, Children and Adult Services Committee have agreed to undertake a public consultation on the proposal.

The consultation will take place under procedures set down in The Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010.

The views of parents, school pupils, the local community and others will be sought over a period extending from 7 November to 19 December 2016.

A public meeting will be held at Dunvegan Village Hall, 7pm on 30 November.

The proposal paper and associated documentation will be available on the Highland Council website from 7 November at www.highland.gov.uk/schoolconsultations
