Review of Taxi Tariff 2025/26

At its meeting held on 16 September 2025 the Licensing Committee agreed a draft tariff which will go out for public consultation. There are no change to any of the tariffs, with the only change being in relation to the maximum luggage charge which is proposed to be increased from £5.00 to £10.00. A copy of the proposed tariff is available to view.

The Council hereby invites the public to submit written representations about these proposals. Please write to the Principal Solicitor (Regulatory Services) at The Highland Council, Council Offices, High Street, Dingwall, IV15 9QN or send an e-mail to licensing@highland.gov.uk by Monday 20 October 2025. Representations received will be considered by the Highland Licensing Committee on 2 December 2025 before the new tariff is agreed.

Academy Street Taxi Rank - Inverness

We have been asked to provide clarity in relation to the taxi rank outside the old Filling Station restaurant on Academy Street, specifically around whether there are any approved `feeder’ ranks for this, and would confirm that the official rank in this location consists of the rank spaces as identified outside the old filling station down to the barriers. There is no `feeder rank’ from either outside the Rohan shop, from Station Square or any other location.
