Development guidance - Inverness East Development Brief
We are preparing a draft development brief that will guide expansion of the east side of Inverness as the population of the city expands over the coming 10-20 years. To help work out what green spaces, education provision, paths, roads and other facilities will be required we are gathering a wide range of information and views from local residents, technical experts, landowners, developers and community groups. A workshop was held at Inverness Campus on 16 November 2016 and the initial ideas raised at the event are available.
The easiest way to keep up to date with progress on the brief is to register online. If you did not have a chance to attend the workshop and want to share your views on the emerging workshop ideas, please contact us using the details at the bottom of the page.
The area covered by the brief is shown below:
We will continue to gather information from stakeholders before asking the City of Inverness Area Committee to endorse a draft brief for further consultation in November 2017.
The Development Brief will also take into account the options presented in the A9/A96 Inshes to Smithton Scheme, also known as East Link. This is an integral part of proposals put forward as part of the Inverness City Region Deal and will influence potential future land use in the area.
