Have a Fake Free Christmas and Buy Real – video advice from Trading Standards 

Highland Council Trading Standards want everyone to have a ‘fake free’ Christmas this year.  As part of the Festive Safe Highland campaign consumers can view online some timely advice on how to spot fakes and protect themselves from buying potentially unsafe electrical goods, cosmetics, perfumes and designer clothes.  Consumers may unwittingly buy such gifts for friends and family only to find out later that they are fake and also potentially unsafe and harmful if used.

Anyone who thinks they may have recently purchased counterfeit or fake goods to come to speak to us during this campaign or contact the Citizens Advice Helpline on 03454 04 05 06 or visit their website www.citizensadvice.org.uk/scotland/consumer  (external link).

Members of the public who spot fake goods being sold can also report their concerns directly to Highland Council Trading Standards at:  https://www.highland.gov.uk/counterfeits
