The role of the health visitor

Health visitors are registered nurses or midwives who have undertaken further training enabling them to work to promote the health of children and families. The role of the Health Visitor as the main contact for families with young children, is well established. The Children and Young People’s Bill  formalises that role and the Health Visitor is now the ‘Named Person’ for all preschool children.
