    As part of an ongoing multi-agency partnership initiative, known as Operation Respect; which aims to reduce the negative effect of anti-social behaviour, violence and crime, metal detection devices which scan for knives and other offensive weapons will be used in licensed premises across Inverness over the coming weeks and months as the busy festive season approaches.

    Folk group Clann Thròndairnis from Staffin Primary on the Isle of Skye have won top prize in the folk group competition for under 13 year olds at the Royal National Mod in Inverness.

    The Highland Council has appointed Mrs Annie MacPhee as Acting Head Teacher at Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis. Mrs MacPhee, a fluent Gaelic speaker from Lewis, has been seconded from her current post as Support for Learning Teacher at Glenurquhart and Beauly Primaries.
