  • Revised dates for A9 Tain South junction closure

    New revised dates have been set for essential resurfacing works on a section of the A9 Trunk Road, on the Tain Bypass.  The new dates are from Sunday 24th March to Friday 29th March 2019.

    The Council’s Programme “Local Voices: Highland Choices” was approved at today’s Council meeting, along with a Corporate Plan which provides the measures and actions required to deliver and monitor the Programme.

    Overall the Council’s key performance indicators (KPIs) for 2017-18 are performing well with 81% (22) either improving or being maintained.

    As part of The Highland Council’s Redesign Programme, a comprehensive review of Service Income was undertaken by Deloitte and The Highland Council. The Highland Council received no charge following agreement with Deloitte that this would be very useful work experience for their Assistant Manager.

    Motorists are being reminded that Eastgate, Inverness, is currently temporarily closed to vehicles at its junction with Crown Road to its junction with Inglis Street.

  • Littering Awareness Campaign with Lochaber High School

    This week marks the conclusion of a Highland Council littering awareness campaign with Lochaber High School. The Highland Council’s Waste Aware team visited the school during February as part of the initiative funded by Zero Waste Scotland.  The campaign aimed to help to reduce the amount of litter generated in both school grounds and in areas frequented by pupils at lunchtime.
