Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal

The vision behind the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal is to position Inverness and the Highlands as a region of digital opportunity. This vision was turned into reality on 30 January, when the Inverness and Highland City Region Deal was signed off at a ceremony in Invergordon. This formalised the commitment of £315 million worth of funding - £135m from the Scottish Government, supported by £127m from The Highland Council and its partners, and another £53m from the UK Government.

Funding boost for island projects in Skye, Eigg and Canna

Island communities in Highland are celebrating today after confirmation of a major funding boost that will help four key local projects. All four applications in Highland submitted to the Scottish Government’s Islands Programme for 25/26 were successful in securing funding - with £706,039 awarded in total.
