The Commando Memorial near Spean Bridge is a place of national and international importance. It honours the Commandos who gave their lives in the Second World War and in more recent conflicts.
We care for the site to protect its dignity and purpose. The memorial is supported by donations from visitors.
Scattering ashes
A dedicated area has been created next to the Garden of Remembrance for scattering ashes.
Placing memorials and plaques
Family and friends may place small memorials in the garden. To help us maintain the site, we ask plaques:
- measure no more than 6 inches by 4 inches
- be made from weather-proof material
- be securely fixed using a ground stake
Due to Highland weather, items can deteriorate quickly. We may remove damaged items with care and respect.
We ask that soft toys are not left at the site.
