What the board does
The Redesign Board was established at a Special Meeting of the Highland Council on 24 March 2016. It consists of 16 members and was created to lead and oversee the redesign of the council.

The board has engaged with staff, partners, community bodies and the Citizens’ Panel. Based on feedback, the board concluded that redesign is about the council being more:
- open-minded to new ways of delivering services
- commercially-minded to sustain services and jobs across the region
- community-minded, listening locally, supporting more community action and targeting support where it is needed most
Redesign also recognises that:
- staff are central to identifying change and making it happen. They bring local knowledge and expertise in their areas of work
- good working relationships between councillors, staff and partners are essential to respond effectively to the challenges faced by the council and its communities
