How to apply
You must apply in advance. The timescales depend on the length and type of event.
Short-term events (5 days or less)
- apply at least 3 months before the event
- repeat events with no major changes: apply at least 6 weeks before
Long-term events (more than 5 days)
- speak to an Access Officer before applying
- apply at least 6 months before the event
- Scottish Ministers must confirm the order
- they may hold a public inquiry if there are objections
Application fees
A standard fee of £117 is charged for all exemption order applications.
You will also be invoiced separately for the cost of a public notice
