Our Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy explains how we use AI in a way that is safe, fair and open. We want to use new technology to improve services for our communities, while making sure people’s information is protected and decisions remain accountable. The policy sets out clear expectations to ensure AI is used responsibly and in a way that builds trust and delivers real benefits.

AI systems register

The current approved AI systems are:

• Microsoft Copilot - when logged in with a Highland Council Microsoft account
• Google Gemini - within a Google Education account
• Beam - Highland Council Beam account
