A suitable location for a permanent site for a helicopter landing site (HLS) to be utilised for Air Ambulance and Search and Rescue has been ongoing for several years. NHS have confirmed they will not build a landing site as part of the new hospital.
A possible permanent site has been identified in the Glen Nevis area and partners headed by the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team are progressing investigations with Jahama Estates and the HELP appeal.
Discussions with Breedon (the new site owners of the current landing site at Carrs Corner) have been positive with regards to allowing Bristow to continue landing there in the short-term giving continuity until a new site is operational.
