- Trade or business
- Letting (12 or fewer passengers)
- Recreational purposes
- Educational purposes
- Sporting purposes

To apply for a licence you will need:
- a credit or debit card
- to have read the guidance notes
- details of current licence
- public liability insurance for uploading
- certificate of fitness of vehicle for uploading
The application fee for a boat hire licence is £497.00 (for a 3 year licence)
The application fee for a temporary boat hire licence is £248.50 (A temporary licence is valid for a maximum of 6 weeks)
