How to apply

An application must be:

  • in writing
  • signed by the applicant
  • made no later than 28 days before the proposed collection

If you want to set up something like a table, gazebo or stall on a path or road, you need to get permission from our roads team.

Following each collection, applicants must also provide their area licensing office with a completed return form.

Apply for a licence

Forms and guidance

You need a licence to collect donations in public places for charity. If you want to collect donations in shops and supermarkets you must get their permission.

There is no fee associated with requesting permission to hold a collection.
