B9039 Inverness Airport junction - 50 and 30mph speed limits - Road safety team consultations

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Highland Council proposes to make an Order in terms of Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 entitled as above. If the Order comes into force, the Order will introduce 30mph and 50mph speed limits on the following sections of road:

Part 1 30MPH Speed Limits

B9039 – NEWTON – CASTLE STUART – ARDERSIER ROAD (Old Military Road) and C1017 – KERROWGAIR – CROY ROAD and U5409 – (Local name Fresson Circle).

Lengths of Road affected:

• That section of the B9039 – NEWTON – CASTLE STUART – ARDERSIER ROAD (Old Military Road) from a point 300 metres or thereby south west of its junction with the C1017 – KERROWGAIR – CROY ROAD to a point 300 metres or thereby north east of the said junction, a distance of 600 metres or thereby.

• That section of the C1017 – KERROWGAIR – CROY ROAD commencing at its junction with the B9039 – NEWTON – CASTLE STUART – ARDERSIER ROAD (Old Military Road) and extending 680 metres or thereby south easterly and then 300 metres or thereby south westerly, a total distance of 980 metres or thereby.

• The U5409 (local name Freeson Circle) commencing at its roundabout junction with the C1017 – KERROWGAIR – CROY ROAD, for its entire length.

Part 2 – 50 MPH Speed Limit

B9039 – NEWTON – CASTLE STUART – ARDERSIER ROAD (Old Military Road).

Length of Road affected:

• That section of the B9039 – NEWTON – CASTLE STUART – ARDERSIER ROAD (Old Military Road) commencing at its junction with the A96 - Inverness - Aberdeen Road and extending generally north easterly to a point 300 metres or thereby south west of its junction with the C1017 – KERROWGAIR – CROY ROAD, a distance of 3,556 metres or thereby.

• That section of the B9039 – NEWTON – CASTLE STUART – ARDERSIER ROAD (Old Military Road) from a point 300 metres or thereby north east of its junction with the C1017 – KERROWGAIR – CROY ROAD and extending north easterly for a distance of 3,121 metres or thereby.
