We offer financial support to help new and growing businesses in the Highland Council area.
This includes:
- start-up grants
- loan finance
- access to UK Shared Prosperity Fund support

Start-up grant
If you're starting a new business, you could get a £1,000 grant. This is funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and delivered by Business Gateway Highland.
Your local start-up adviser can help you develop your business idea and apply for the grant.
Business loans
If your business needs investment to start or grow, you may be eligible for a loan from Highland Opportunity (Investments) Limited. This is a loan company owned by Highland Council and approved by the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
Before applying for any loan, you should speak with one of our local Business Gateway Highland advisers to discuss your plans and receive appropriate guidance and support.
