Information about this election
A Local Government by-election is being held to fill a vacancy in Ward 3, Wick and East Caithness, following the resignation of Councillor Willie Mackay.
Voting will take place on Thursday 1 October 2026, with an electronic count being held the following day on Friday 2 October 2026.
Following the close of nominations at 4pm on Monday 31 August 2026, the candidates for Ward 3, Wick and East Caithness are:

- CALDER, Julie - Scottish Liberal Democrats
- GIBSON, Charlotte - Scottish Conservative and Unionist
- GLEN, John - Scottish National Party (SNP)
