Our Commitment to Equality and Diversity
We are committed to ensuring that in Highland:
- people are free to live their lives without harassment or discrimination and can fully participate in community life
- everyone benefits fairly from public services and has the opportunity to voice their opinions about them
- there is an organisational culture in which all individuals are treated with dignity and respect
Equality outcomes
On 12 May 2021, we approved a revised set of Equality Outcomes for 2021–2025, which include outcomes for the Education Authority and the Licensing Board. These outcomes focus on priority areas for equality work and aim to eliminate discrimination, promote equality, and foster positive relationships.
Mainstreaming equality
We, including our role as an Education Authority and Licensing Board, publish a progress report on mainstreaming equality every two years. This report details how we integrate equality into our work, highlighting activities across the Council and in partnership to ensure our services are fair and accessible. It also includes case studies and information about our role as an employer.
