Located within the sheltered waters of Loch Alsh, Kyle Harbour is a busy deep-water port (depths over 7 metres) serving a range of activities including cargo handling, fishing, aquaculture, leisure boating, and small to medium-sized cruise liners.
Several operators run fishing trips and scenic cruises from the harbour, offering views of the area’s stunning coastal and underwater landscapes.

All waters below the level of MHWS commencing at:
- A point 65 metres South of the Westernmost end of Lochalsh Road at Latitude 57° 16.793’N, Longitude 05° 43.271’ W; thence in a SSE’ly direction for a distance of 412 metres to:
- Latitude 57° 16.591’ N, Longitude 05° 43.104’ W; thence in an E’ly direction for a distance of 620 metres to:
- Latitude 57° 16.614’N, Longitude 05° 42.492’ W; thence in a NE’ly direction for a distance of 310 metres to:
- Latitude 57° 16.745’ N, Longitude 05° 42.297’ W; thence in a N’ly direction for a distance of 180 metres to:
- Latitude 57° 16.840’ N, Longitude 05° 42.307’ W; on the level of MHWS South of Creag Loisgte.

Slipways
Former car ferry slipways, used before the construction of the Skye Bridge, now provide excellent launch facilities for trailer-launched leisure craft and cargo landing vessels.

Exposed location; not suitable in poor weather. Available 1 April to 30 September only. Contact the Harbour Master before berthing.
Safe anchorages
None within harbour limits but two within Lochalsh at:
- Latitude 57° 16.00’ N, Longitude 05° 39.40 W
- Latitude 57° 16.60’ N, Longitude 05° 40.60’ W
