UK Parliamentary Election

The Returning Officer is responsible for the administration of the election in their constituency. The Chief Executive of The Highland Council is the Returning Officer for both of the Highland constituencies:

  • Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross
  • Inverness, Skye and West Ross-shire

As a result of the recent boundary changes, parts of the Highland local government area now fall into the new constituencies that are managed by Argyll and Bute Council and  Moray Council:

  • Argyll, Bute and South Lochaber
  • Moray West, Nairn and Strathspey

Notice of times for inspecting returns as to election expenses for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross Constituency;  Inverness, Skye and West Ross-shire Constituency

As Returning Officer for the UK Parliamentary election that was held on Thursday 4 July 2024, I hereby give notice that the election expenses returns, declarations and all accompanying documents of candidates at the above election may be inspected during office hours at The Highland Archive Centre, Bught Road, Inverness, IV3 5SS for a period of two years. Please email recordsmanagement@highland.gov.uk or phone 01349 781161 to arrange an appointment. The fee payable for a copy of any such return, declaration or document is 20p for each side of each page.
