What the service includes
You can pay for a brown bin and permit to recycle your garden waste.
This service is not included in your Council Tax.
How collections work
We collect your brown bin every 2 weeks from 1 September to 31 August.
There are no collections in December, January or February.
You need a permit to receive garden waste collections.
Cost
A garden waste permit and brown bin costs £48.95. There are no discounts or reduced rates.
You can apply at any time during the year, but the full charge still applies.
You can buy up to 3 permits per household.
Garden waste permits are available for 2026 to 2027. The current permit is valid from 1 September 2026 until 31 August 2027.2026-2027 permits
Using the service
Follow these steps to use your garden waste collection service correctly:
- check what you can put in your brown bin
- make sure your bin is out by 7am on your collection day
- do not overfill your bin
- do not put plastic bags, soil, stones or food waste in your garden waste bin
