You can ask us for:
- extracts from the database
- help with more complex searches
Free access
We do not charge for simple requests from:
- members of the public
- students
- researchers
We only charge if the request is complex or has a commercial purpose.
When charges apply
We charge for Historic Environment Record data extracts when:
- the request is for commercial use
- you need the data in a specific format (usually GIS shapefiles)
These charges cover the cost of preparing and supplying the data.

| Major, national or EIA development Electricity Act developments (S36 and S37) Industrial or commercial development over 2 hectares Peatland restoration Forestry projects | £664 |
| Optional priority service (data supplied within 5 working days) | £166 (added to the above fee) |

- the area you need data for
- if you need the priority service
