Minutes of the Special Meeting of the City of Inverness Area Committee held in the Council Chamber, Council Headquarters, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness on Thursday, 25 June 2015 at 6.05 pm

Apologies for absence were intimated on behalf of Mr N Donald, Mr A Duffy, Mr J Ford, Mr J Gray, Mr D Hendry and Ms K Stephen.

2. Declarations of Interest

3.  Provost and Leader of Inverness and Area
Pròbhaist agus Ceannard Inbhir Nis agus a Sgìre

Nominations were sought at the meeting for the position of Provost and Leader of Inverness and Area.

In this regard, Mrs M Davidson, seconded by Mr J Crawford, nominated Mrs H Carmichael.

Mr F Parr, seconded by Mr A Christie, nominated Mrs B McAllister.

On a vote being taken between the two candidates, Mrs H Carmichael received 12 votes and Mrs B McAllister received 6 votes, with 2 abstentions, the votes having been cast as follows:-

Votes for Mrs H Carmichael:-
Balfour, R; Brown, I; Campbell, J; Carmichael, H; Crawford, J; Davidson, M; Gowans, K; Kerr, D; Laird, R; Ross, G; Sinclair, G; Slater, J

Votes for Mrs B McAllister:-

The Committee therefore AGREED to appoint Mrs H Carmichael to the position of Provost and Leader of Inverness and Area.
