In relation to the agenda and papers circulated for the above Meeting of the Highland Council, please find below additional information:-

AGENDA ITEM 3/AGENDA ITEM 6 

Membership of the Council/Strategic Committees 

The Council is advised that Ms P Hadley will continue as a member of the Green Party on the Council but her status will not include reference to the Highland Matters Group in future.  

On that basis, and following both the resignation of Mr B Thompson and the result of the By-Election for Ward 21, membership of the Council is now as follows:-

Ind – 24/SNP - 19/Lib Dem – 11/Scottish Cons & Unionist - 10//Labour – 3/Highland Matters – 3//Green -1/Sutherland Independent – 1/Non-Aligned – 1/Vacancy – 1.

Membership of Strategic Committees now changes from 7/5/3/3 to 6/5/3/3/1 – with the final place tied between the Labour and Highland Matters Groups.

On that basis – and following consultation – Members are asked to agree the following changes to memberships of Strategic Committees – 

Corporate Resources Committee – Mr J Gray to continue on this Committee
Communities & Place Committee – Mr D Macpherson to come off and Ms M Smith to be added
Economy & Infrastructure Committee – Mr B Lobban to come off and Ms M Smith to be added
Health, Social Care & Wellbeing Committee – Mrs M Davidson to come off and Ms P Hadley to be added
Housing & Property Committee – Mr C MacLeod to be added
Education Committee – Mr L Fraser to come off and Mrs P Munro to be added 

Members are also asked to agree the following change to membership of the Economy & Infrastructure Committee – Mr A Jarvie to replace Mr A Sinclair

Nominations will also be put forward by the Administration as follows – 

Chair of the Housing & Property Committee – Mr L Fraser
Vice Chair of the Housing & Property Committee – Mr M Finlayson
Vice Chair of the Corporate Resources Committee – Mr A Christie

AGENDA ITEM 20 

Timetable of Meetings 2022

Members are asked to agree the following changes - 

South Planning Applications Committee – meeting to be moved from 3 May to 28 April
Gaelic Committee – meeting to be moved from 21 February to 2 March.
