Report an invasive species
If you see an invasive non-native species, you can report it to the Biological Records Centre to help track and manage the problem.
If the species is on land owned or managed by us, we will investigate.
To report it to us, email ecology@highland.gov.uk with:
- your name
- your contact details
- the location, use Grid Reference Finder to get a grid reference
- the species you saw
- how much of it there was
- a photo of the species
Species we are managing
These are the top five invasive species we are working to control in Highland:
- Japanese knotweed
- American mink
- Rhododendron ponticum
- Giant hogweed
- Himalayan balsam
