Promoting biodiversity

Making space for nature in Highland

The Scottish Highlands are home to some of the UK's most important natural habitats. Over 75% of the UK’s priority habitats are found here, and more than 1,500 priority species listed on the Scottish Biodiversity List live in the region.

We manage a large area of land and property, giving us a significant role in protecting and enhancing biodiversity.

What we are doing

We are working to:

  • enhance greenspaces across our estate
  • connect habitats through nature networks
  • support local and national biodiversity goals
