Results of Interim Community Council Elections
Following last month’s announcement of Interim Community Council elections for eight Highland communities, The Highland Council is today (Thursday 2 February) able to confirm that five have been formed uncontested.
They are: -
- Cradlehall and Westhill Community Council
- Creich Community Council
- Glencoe and Glen Etive Community Council
- Strathdearn Community Council
- Tarbat Community Council
Following the close of nominations and the withdrawal period the two community councils that failed to attract half the maximum membership so have not been established are Kinlochleven Community Council and Conon Bridge Community Council This was the second attempt to attract membership to Conon Bridge Community Council.
More nominations than vacancies were received for Minginish Community Council so a postal ballot will be held.
Ballot papers are anticipated to be posted out to electors on Thursday 16 February 2023 and must be returned by no later than 12noon on Thursday 2 March 2023.
