Update on work to repair landslip damage on the B863 in Lochaber
Work to repair the recent landslip damage affecting a section of the B863 Glencoe–Kinlochleven road started on Monday (3 July).
Following initial clean-up operations, assessment and survey of the damage, work has commenced to re-build the failed side slope below the road.
The road will re-open to single lane traffic with traffic lights and a temporary weight restriction later this month. It is expected that this initial work to reopen the route will be completed by Friday 21 July. If the works progress more quickly, it may be possible to bring forward this date.
Once the road is open to single lane traffic with traffic management measures in place, the final work to rebuild the parapets, install safety fencing and complete the surfacing will be completed later this summer.
