B849 – Drimnin, Killundine repair works

Following an alert this morning (10 October 2023) of a landslide, Highland Council has now assessed the slope subsidence on the B894.

The B894 road edge just past Killundine River heading west to Drimnin has subsided resulting in the single carriageway loss of any verge or edge protection.

From today there will be no HGV traffic until the slope is stabilised. Access for emergency services vehicles will be maintained.

The road will be closed tomorrow 11 October from 9am every 2 hours with 30 minute amnesty opening periods. This is to ensure available road working width can be achieved to make repairs to the edge and protect the structure of the carriageway.

The Council hopes to minimise disruption with an estimated 3 days of work. Updates to follow.
