Foghlam Gàidhlig sgoil-àraich ann an Inbhir Pheofharain

Tha caibideil ùr ann am Foghlam tron Ghàidhlig (FtG) air tòiseachadh do chloinn sgoil-àraich ann an Inbhir Pheofharain.

Chaidh cuireadh a thoirt do phàrantan is luchd-cùraim tighinn còmhla ri cloinn agus luchd-obrach aig an Taigh Ghàidhlig gus gluasad solar FtG gu Bun-Sgoil Inbhir Pheofharain bhon t-solaraiche mu dheireadh, Cròileagan Inbhir Pheofharain, a chomharrachadh.

Bha an Comhairliche Graham MacCoinnich, Cathraiche Comataidh Inbhir Pheofharain agus Shìophoirt agus an Comhairliche Mairead NicPheadrais, an t-Iar-Chathraiche, ro thoilichte an ribean a ghearradh agus Sgoil-Àraich Inbhir Pheofharain fhosgladh gu h-oifigeil.

Thuirt an Comhairliche MacCoinnich: “Tha mi air mo dhòigh glan tighinn còmhla ris a h-uile duine airson fosgladh oifigeil Sgoil-Àraich Inbhir Pheofharain a chomharrachadh. Tha clann le Gàidhlig air a dhol dhan sgoil-àraich an seo aig an Taigh Ghàidhlig fad deugachadh mòr bhliadhnaichean agus mar sin ’s e fìor dheagh naidheachd a th’ ann gum bi an obair agus an cùram a’ leantainn air adhart taobh a-staigh nam ballachan seo."

Thuirt an Comhairliche NicPheadrais: “Bu mhath leam taing a thoirt dhan a h-uile duine a bha an sàs ann a bhith a’ cur na seirbheis cudromaich seo air bhonn agus sin a’ ciallachadh na h-uimhir dhan choimhearsnachd ionadail againn.”

Chaidh Cròileagan Inbhir Pheofharain a chlàrachadh mar sheirbheis cùraim-chloinne ann an 2002 agus chùm i a’ dol chun an Lùnastail an-uiridh. Bha Seirbheis Foghlaim na Comhairle gu mòr airson solar sgoil-àraich Gàidhlig a chumail a’ dol san sgìre agus chaidh planaichean a chur air dòigh gus an sgoil-àraich a leasachadh. Chaidh an obair seo a chrìochnachadh aig a’ Chàisg agus tha an t-ionad deiseil fàilte a chur air a’ chloinn as t-samhradh.

Thuirt an Comhairliche Calum Rothach, Cathraiche Comataidh na Gàidhlig: “Tha iomadh buannachd an lùib Foghlam tron Ghàidhlig a bhith air a stiùireadh leis a’ Chomhairle, an dà chuid do chloinn aois sgoil-àraich agus bun-sgoile. Bidh clann agus an teaghlaichean eòlach air lèirsinn agus luachan na seirbheis bho aois òg, agus bu chòir gun dèanadh seo an gluasad dhan bhun-sgoil beagan nas fhasa còmhla rin caraidean. Bu toil leam taing a thoirt do luchd-obrach Cròileagan Inbhir Pheofharain, chan ann a-mhàin airson cùram dìleas a thoirt dhan chloinn fad iomadh bliadhna ach cuideachd airson taic a thoirt dhan Ghàidhlig fhèin ann an Inbhir Pheofharain agus anns na coimhearsnachdan mun cuairt.”

Gaelic nursery education in Dingwall

A new chapter in Gaelic Medium Education (GME) for nursery children has begun in Dingwall.

Parents and carers were invited to join children and staff at an Taigh Gàidhlig to celebrate the final transition of GME provision to Dingwall Primary School from the previous provider Cròileagan Inbhir Pheofharain.

Dingwall and Seaforth Committee Chair Cllr Graham MacKenzie and Vice Chair Cllr Margaret Paterson gladly cut the ribbon signifying the launch of the new Sgoil-Àraich Inbhir Pheofharain.

Cllr MacKenzie said: “I am delighted to join everyone to mark the official opening of Sgoil-Àraich Inbhir Pheofharain. Gaelic speaking children have gone to nursery here at an Taigh Gàidhlig for decades so it is great news that this work and care will continue from inside these walls.”

Cllr Paterson added: “I would like to thank everyone involved in setting up this important service which means a great deal to our local community.”

Cròileagan Inbhir Pheofharain registered as a childcare service in 2002 and ran as such until August last year. The Council’s Education service was keen to continue the Gaelic nursery provision in the area and plans were put in place to transform the nursery. This work recently finished this Easter and the setting is now ready to welcome children from this summer.

Cllr Calum Munro, Chair of the Gaelic Committee said: “There are many benefits to Gaelic Medium Education being managed by the Council for both nursery and primary school aged children. Children and their families will be familiar with the vision and values of the service from an early age, and this should help to make the transition into primary school a little easier with their friends. I would like to thank the staff of Cròileagan Inbhir Pheofharain for their many years of dedicated care to children but also for their work in supporting the Gaelic language in Dingwall and surrounding communities.”
