Ward 6 Cromarty Firth By-Election Result

The by-election to elect a councillor to represent Ward 6– Cromarty Firth on The Highland Council has been won by Richard Cross - Independent who was one of nine candidates contesting the vacancy,
Voters in the ward went to the poll yesterday (Thursday 19 June ) and the by-election count was held this morning and webcasted live.
Voting was by the single transferable vote and Richard emerged as the winner at stage 9 of the electronic count.
The turnout was 24.7%.
He will join Councillors Sinclair Coghill (Highland Alliance), Tamala Collier (Scottish National Party and John Edmondson (Scottish Liberal Democrats) in representing Ward 6 on The Highland Council.
