Corran Ferry service - Maid of Glencoul update
The Maid of Glencoul, the resilience vessel for the Corran Ferry service, was due to return to Ardgour early this month. Unfortunately, during commissioning, the engine experienced a further breakdown which requires warranty repairs and parts. The manufacturer is predicting it could take several weeks. We will again update the public with a timeline for the works once the timeline for securing parts and completion of the works is provided by the manufacturer.
Economy and Infrastructure Chair, Cllr Ken Gowans said: “The Highland Council regrets the further delay in bringing the Maid of Glencoul back to support the MV Corran as a relief vessel. This is deeply disappointing, as we are fully aware of the need for resilience for the service.
“The team will continue to work to expedite this repair and are currently making adjustments to their contingency planning to reflect this delay.”
The MV Corran is operating as normal and the timetable details and other information is available here (external link).
